Floral Vessel- No 122
This vessel draws on the quiet mystery of long grass—what moves within it, what hides beneath its shifting blades, and how darkness transforms familiar forms into something otherworldly.
Handbuilt and carved from black clay, the vessel is composed of layered tall grass caught in a still wind. Each carved line builds a rhythmic surface that feels both protective and alive, suggesting something stirring just beneath the surface.
As light moves across the form, soft highlights catch the raised edges, revealing the vessel’s sculptural depth. The piece feels like an abstracted bloom emerging from night—part botanical, part atmospheric.
Finished with a satin seal, it retains the tactile presence of raw clay while offering a contemplative centerpiece, it invites viewers to linger in the tension between concealment and revelation.
