Commissions
I create commissioned sculptural ceramic works for hospitality environments, private residences, and design-led projects. My commissions are developed in collaboration with designers, architects, art consultants, and purchasing agencies, resulting in sculptural works tailored to a specific space that bring material presence and quiet focus to an interior.
Commissions range from standalone sculptural works to multi-piece installations, each approached with careful attention to scale, material, surface, and environment.
Process:
Each commission is developed in two phases to create clarity around direction, scope, and timing.
Design Development:
The design phase allows us to explore scale, material direction, surface treatment, and overall presence in relation to the intended space. Depending on the project, this stage may include concept development, material references, adaptation of existing work, preliminary mockups, and conversations around structure or installation requirements.
This phase is especially helpful for projects that require a specific size, finish, architectural relationship, or a more tailored sculptural direction.
Design development is priced separately depending on complexity
This phase may include review of architectural drawings or interior concepts
Design concepts and material samples can be provided
Customization:
Commissions may include:
Adjustments in scale and proportion
Adaptation of existing series or collections
Custom clay bodies and surface treatments
Glaze development or colored clay options
Raw, sealed, satin, or glazed finishes
Multi-piece commissions and installations
New surface directions can be developed for specific projects
Existing forms may be reinterpreted in different materials or finishes
Grouped commissions can be created for larger installations
Custom color or glaze development may involve additional design time
Fabrication:
Once the design direction is finalized, fabrication begins. Each sculpture is handbuilt in my studio with careful attention to structure, surface, and installation context. Depending on scale and complexity, commissions may range from a single sculptural object to a multi-element installation.
Once fabrication begins, the finalized design may not be changed or altered
A 50% non-refundable fabrication deposit is required prior to production
Balance is due upon completion and prior to shipping
For projects involving unusual scale, structural requirements, or integrated bases, I may collaborate with trusted fabricators, engineers, or installers as needed
Special commissions ship FOB from the studio. Clients are also welcome to arrange shipping or pickup
Lead Times:
Lead times vary depending on the scale and complexity of the project. Rush timelines may be possible depending on studio availability.
Larger or multi-piece commissions require additional lead time
Installation timelines can be coordinated with project schedules
Shipping and crating timelines will be discussed during fabrication
Who I Work With:
I regularly collaborate with interior designers, hospitality groups, art consultants, architects, and procurement teams on projects that call for sculptural ceramic work with a strong material presence. I also welcome commissions from individual collectors.
Commissions range from private collector pieces to hospitality installations
I welcome collaboration early in the design process
Material-forward work can be tailored to align with project palettes

Created for Norwegian Cruise Lines’ newest vessel, launching March 2026, this series of 35-inch ceramic sculptures was designed to complement a refined hospitality interior. The client requested black-and-white gestural works that convey both movement and tranquility. Each piece was conceived as a focal point within a larger architectural setting—balancing artistry with spatial harmony.
This commission reflects my ongoing collaborations with the hospitality and design trade, delivering sculptural works that integrate seamlessly into luxury environments while maintaining the individuality of fine art.
“JAPAN”
A few years ago, I parted with “The Coupling”, a vessel pair that embodied a sculptural clay landscape—one that spoke of movement and connection. In 2024, I was honored to revisit this vision, creating a more intimate version for a private showroom in Tokyo designed by the renowned interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg.
Revisiting The Coupling was not just a recreation but an evolution—an opportunity to refine my technique and allow a new conversation to emerge. Seeing these pieces find a home in Japan, a place I feel deeply connected to, was a profound full-circle moment.
“MIAMI”
A collaboration with EoA Design Group as they develop a new resort in Miami, FL.
This commission was a wonderful chance to explore color while staying true to my aesthetic, allowing me to flex my knowledge of clay formulation in a new and exciting way.
The pieces combine stoneware clay and slip casting, a technique I have been refining for years. Though the forms are repetitive, each of the 18 pieces showcases a unique surface design, ensuring each one has its own voice.
“GUEST BATHROOM”
A unique sink commission for clients of
Joan Barton at Dirty Girl Construction in Los Angeles.
I love using untraditional surfacing techniques, so this sink is finished with Sculpt Nouveau metal paints and patinas. The final surface is a beautiful rust color with a modeled surface.
